"I note that you are incorporating a lot of crucifers (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage) in your raw diet. Having had gall bladder surgery, these give me a LOT of persistent gas, making things unpleasant for me and those around me. Are they…"
"If you noticed, I didn't say Golden Corral was a "safe" place with no temptations, or that I manage to stick completely with my diet when there. However, we enjoy the occasional dinner-date, and if we go somewhere like Golden Corral,…"
"Golden Corral is good. We are also partial to a Chinese buffet here in town - but after a plate of salad, I usually don't stick entirely to my diet either place. I just find that the salad helps me partake of the other foods with greater…"
"This idea is very helpful when eating out, too. Our favorite restaurants are always buffets, not only because we don't have to wait to eat, but because we have more control over portion sizes and selection. I find that if I hit the salad bar…"
"My husband is very supportive of me in my efforts to prepare healthy meals, but he is not willing to forgo meat in his meals. We are empty nesters with no children at home, so when I prepare a vegan meal, he often will cook some chicken or hamburger…"
"I agree with Carolyn and Alice; there are a lot of challenges to eating this way. When everyone in the office is eating cookies, when the menu at the church social isn't healthy, when you visit adult children who serve up cheesy pasta with cake…"
"I looked at Superfoods on the website, and I see all these ingredients that are probably healthy for the body, but nowhere does it give the nutritional information (how many grams of what) for it. Since you have a the stuff, would you mind posting…"
"Thanks, Sharlene. I don't have superfoods powder but leaving it out I made 3 kits the other day and tried one of them yesterday. It's really good! It reminds me a little of those Icee drinks or some kind of fruit slush. The convenience of…"
Thank you for the reply to my questions. I have looked at your site - found some of the comments helpful. I would not try the fast without being under some medical supervision.
I would be interested in what you find helpful in regards to the weight loss. I have also been looking at the raw foods - but I get to the point where I like to add some of the soups etc for a change - I too find if I stick to raw foods for some time I get bored and that is when I tend to cheat once in a while. ( guess not really cheating - just adding some grains etc) My breakfast every morning is whole and steel cut oats with flaxseed
and cinnamon and fresh blueberries (I eat it raw) plus 2 oz of Xango plus a green smoothie (about 4 oz). Maybe I should cut out the grains to help with the weight loss.
Hi Eve, Actually I lean more to the Raw Foods but I enjoy what the Simmons have to offer, in fact I just started a Healthy Living Group that meets at my house in South Weber monthly. Our next meeting is March 18th. Send me your email and I'll give you the details.
Ciao! Lauri :)
