I heard today that only whey protien has the essential amino acids to build muscle that is torn down during weight lifting. Is this true? If not, what other source of protien is good to build muscle? Thanks for the help.

Salad Dressings
While eating more vegetables and increasing our salad intake is critical, having a proper salad dressing is vital, too. It doesn't make sense to arrange a plate of God's greatest foods, then glop spoonfuls of MSG, altered oils, and preservatives on top! I'm sharing some of my favorite fresh dressing recipes with you! They can be found at:…

Essential Oils
Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. If you have ever enjoyed the gift of a rose, a walk by a field of lavender, or the smell of fresh cut mint, you have experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. Essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for their medicinal and therapeutic…

Family Gathering!
Food and family gatherings go together like peas in a pod. Yesterday our extended family got together to celebrate the return of one of my nieces, who had spent 18 months in Greece. We had a wonderful time together visiting and enjoying various Mediterranean and Greek food dishes. What fun times! Colleen and I…

Animal Intelligence!
I love this cartoon that was sent to Colleen and I by a friend. If you have ever noticed how intelligent animals are, you may enjoy a good laugh reading this cartoon. And, I hope you will take the time to appreciate how animals live in families and communities as we do; they teach their young, they have great…

Vanquishing Cravings
Any fly fisherman knows that when driven by hunger, a trout will gulp flies made of synthetic thread and metal hooks – if they’re appealing enough. Hypothetically, if a trout were to ingest a whole tackle box of flies, its stomach would be filled, but it would probably be sick …and it would still be voraciously hungry.
The lesson of this tale is that the fish’s appetite is REAL; it is only the lures that are bogus. A live insect would not only complete the trout’s requirement,…

Mad Chef Dietary Creations!
Okay! For the past two weeks Colleen and I have been playing in the kitchen trying to create some new recipes that further enable a healthful diet. Parable of the Pumpkin
It was nearly halloween and a mother had taken her young children to a nearby farmer’s field to see all the pumpkins the farmer had grown. The farmer was gentle and kind and invited the children to go out into his pumpkin patch and to… Continue

wheat, "good for man."
I was wondering if anyone caught the KSL radio discussion today 11/4/10, about eating wheat. So far I have not been able to find the program and listen to it for myself. According to a second hand source, supposedly the discussion about gluten in wheat being problematic for people with celiac disease was followed up by the spokesperson saying that it was (NOT GOOD) for people without celiac disease to eat wheat bread that had the gluten taken out of it because we were not then getting all…

Thank you. You touched my heart and gave me courage to take the next step.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write the blogs on faith. I have used the power of covenants before in solving a problem I couldn't solve on my own. It was the answer I needed. I have been working on changing my diet and solving some major health issues for the past 2 years. I have made miraculous progress, but I have not yet solved all the issues I need to. I hadn't thought about using the power of making covenants. Thank you so much for reminding me about this tool. It scares me,…
