Nurture the Body with Real Food; Nurture the Spirit with Light and Truth!
Inspired by Jim's recent blog posting about "Living Foods," I was excited when I ran across this great online video by Jennifer Cornbleet.
NOTE: See attachment for recipe.
This video, as well as all her others, looks appetizing and are easy to prepare. I have her recipe book and have made a recipe or two from it. (Will have to dig the book out again to review once more.)
Update: I tried the recipe, tweaked it a little for my taste (more lemon juice and a pinch more salt). At first taste it seemed bland, but the flavors intensified as I slowly sipped it. Forgot the avocado and it was still good.
I like the fact she emphasizes the component base of any blended soup so you can use whatever veggies you have on-hand, as well as the portability of this soup. She has many informative tips she passes along, like adding the avocado at the last, as it affects the flavor and color.
If using this soup for a portable meal, to make more filling, take a container on the side with diced veggies to add for some crunch (separate from soup so they won't get soggy). Otherwise, it would be great to sip alongside your mega-greens salad! And I've been complaining how I couldn't eat enough greens throughout the day. With my green smoothie breakfasts and salads for lunch and dinner, sipping green soups just might accomplish it for me!
Well worth watching Jennifer's other online videos. Great information, special tips you rarely hear, and very nicely done. You will see how vibrant living food can be.
