      this soup is really good except when I made it I put the pasta shells in the pot and cooked them at the end in the soup and it turned mushy Yuk! I fished all of the pasta out today and it was much better... the next time I will cook the pasta seperately and put it in the pot and not let it simmer. hope this turns out for you!

      Here you go ~ Vegetable Soup
      Saute onion and green pepper in a little oil
      Lg. can stewed tomatoes mashed up really good... fresh garlic (2 or 3 cloves diced)
      1 can black beans, and 1 can kidney beans or pinto ( your choice) any will do
      1/2 to 3/4 cup pearl barley
      carrots,celery,zucchini,green beans,fresh or frozen, corn any veggies you like and amount~the more the better
      add water and some chicken broth to liking cook til tender add any pasta at the end

      It is so cool to see your name here. I am so excited to learn new recipes using whole foods and having the videos make it so much easier than in a cookbook. This is just what I needed! This couple is amazing! I loved their book and love the idea that they are LDS and know the principles of the word of wisdom. They have done so much work and have so much knowledge, I think we have found a gem! I cannot believe this is a free site. ~ Julie
