Home of the Food Bowl Solution!

On this Easter weekend, as I more fully consider the topic of health, vitality, and longevity, I cannot help but consider this: Jesus had no servants, yet they called him Master. He had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. He had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified him. He was buried in a tomb, yet he lives today.

The valuable goods and services that he bestowed upon others were neither bought nor sold but were given freely. His business is a family business and Jesus does just as his Father does, who has invited us to become His Eternal Heirs and to also learn and enjoy the family business.

I wonder what miraculous society might evolve in our midst today if the pattern of our lives, our work, and our services to one another reflected his life more perfectly? How might our motivations evolve from profits to his perfect love wherein he showed us how to truly love our neighbors as we love ourselves? How might our societies evolve from socialistic or capitalistic to a New Jerusalem that spreads forth upon the earth and becomes filled with paradisiacal glory?

If we would only possess his perfect love and virtue in all that we do, and if our businesses were truly a part of the "Family Franchise," might a perfect knowledge of the laws by which he operated and conducted our Father's business distill upon our souls as the dews from heaven? Might the spirit of truth guide us always and forever? Might we receive an unchanging scepter of righteousness that would earn the respect, love, and wills of all intelligences in the universe. And might we, like the Father, be able to command particles of light in perfect love to do our wills as they do His. Might we not also establish dominions that thereby flow unto us forever and ever without compulsory means? I wonder...

Might our pantries flow forever and never fail us? Might manna fall from heaven, as needed? Might water turn into wine? Might a few loaves of bread and a few fish feed thousands? Would priestcrafts and the selling of half truths and worthless goods and services cease? Would all look to God to receive the perfect answers and solutions to life's challenges, rather than to man who too often has set himself up as a light unto the world to get gain and power? If no man sought to possess from Mother Earth that which was above another and more than is sufficient for his needs today, would there be more and enough to spare for everyone?

If we healed, blessed, and served with bowels that were filled with charity and minds that were garnished unceasingly with virtue -- as a franchisee in our Father's business -- then would our society indeed become a heaven on earth today? Would the ground beneath our feet yield forth in its perfect strength, and would the Tree of Life be once again planted upon this earth and serve for the healing of nations? Would man once again live to the age of a tree and then be changed in the twinkling of an eye to Celestial glory? I truly wonder...

To all of you who are as mothers, as sisters, as fathers, as brothers, and our friends -- we thank you for all you do in his love to lift and bless others and our own lives.

May His Light and Love Fill You This Easter Season and Abide With You Forever!

Thank you for your insights and for all you do to help so many of us help ourselves!
Thanks, Jim.  What a great Emergency Preparedness article!

Thank you for that beautiful Easter prayer.

Thanks Deborah, Kisi, and Arlaine. Lately my heart seems to want to consider more fully sacred covenants of consecration. I kind of have a feeling that a great blessing awaits us that will flow naturally as we become literal in our keeping of covenants that pertain to consecration. We've lived a certain way for generations and I believe it is hard for us to even conceive of any other way to prosper or to receive of our temporal needs. That being said, there is too much scriptural evidence to support the idea that even temporal blessing can flow without compulsory means, provided that the laws which enable such blessings are lived fully. Christ's example in these matters is very thought provoking and inspiring. He wasn't magical; he lived according to natural law and all that we learn of him, such as the feeding of the thousands, is also based upon natural laws. The young boy who provided the fish gave "all" his fish and the disciples gave "all" their bread. Somehow the consecration of "all" we have to the Lord's will is sufficient to make "all" greater than it was initially. There is an infinite principle at work. I suppose when President Kimball taught that one day the Priesthood would release energy to fuel cities and so forth, in ways we've never before imagined, he must have realized that such a thing is possible, based upon "higher laws" we do not now live. Exciting prospects!
James... had to speak in church Sunday and built on your idea of the Lord's plan being a "family business"... a little different than your thoughts or maybe I was just more basic because of the context I was in but I was so touched by the idea. Do you know where I can find the information you spoke of from President Kimball...I would love to research that! Thank you again, first for your insights that touched my heart and second for the inspiration for my own talk!

Deborah, thank you for sharing that with me. I too have been very inspired recently by the Savior and his manner of doing things. For so long I have thought, "Well of course, he was the son of God." More recently I've come to realize that he did nothing, save it were according to natural law. The promise is that as we come to follow him more perfectly, we will enable these very laws and their blessings within our own lives.

Regarding the President Kimball comment: In the 1970s the church put out a video on abortion. President Kimball presented the entire message within the film. I'm not sure how to obtain the video, but it shouldn't be too hard to track down. I think it was the only one of its kind. In the film President Kimball held up a glass of water at one point and said there was enough potential power within that single glass of water to fuel an entire city; then the video panned out to a view of a city lit up at night. He promised that through righteousness we would one day learn how to enable this blessing. I'll bet you could telephone either the church or one of the distribution centers and they could point you in the right direction.
